It reads the whole scene, not the word.
We hand it the line and the lines around it, so it gets politeness, slang and stacked conjugations right.

巨人
Titan
巨人 means a giant; in Attack on Titan, it refers to the Titans. In ordinary speech, it can also mean a person of enormous size or a figurative giant in a field.
やっぱり 巨人って すばらしいなあ
Titans really are wonderful, after all.
Usage Note
大男 (big man) refers specifically to a very large human.
It tells you who actually talks like that.
Slang, dialect, or something nobody says outside a fight. Each card says so, and what people say instead.

貴様
you (contemptuous)
貴様 is a hostile, domineering way to address someone, especially an opponent. In everyday conversation it can sound extremely insulting; use the person’s name or title instead.
貴様の無限とやらも―
Your so-called Infinity, too—
Usage Note
お前 (you) is also rough, but is generally less openly contemptuous.

It brings its own subtitles.
No Japanese track on the show? It finds one written by people in Japan and drops it into the player.

Junie as an app
For now it works in your phone's browser. The App Store and Google Play are next.
Solo dev Endeavor.
I learned English by watching films and shows with English subtitles, and I wanted to learn Japanese the same way. The kanji stopped me, so I added romaji. Then a translation. Then an explanation for every word, a way to save it, and a deck on my phone. And here we are.
I'm still learning Japanese, so I'm one of Junie's users too. I'd be glad if you gave it a try and told me what you think. There's still a lot to do.
